Canopy Covers
Ridge Sewing manufactures two distinct lines of
canopy covers.
Sunbrella - the
All weather cover
Sunbrella covers are custom fit
for each type of glider and are designed to protect canopies of gliders tied out
in the elements.
- The construction is a double
layer; the outer fabric is made from a specially manufactured UV and water
resistant acrylic fabric, the inside lining is a mildew and water resistant
soft flannel material.
- The Sunbrella cover protects
against scratches, dirt, rain, sun and dust pollution in all weather, while
the aircraft can stay fully rigged.
- Top stitching provides added strength and
a crisp, contoured look.
- 1/4 inch bungee typically secures cover
with two belly straps and a double V strap attaching to the trailing edge of
the wings.
- The Sunbrella cover eliminates
accumulation of condensation.
- Sunbrella covers are readily
washable (cleaning instructions are provided).
- The white colored fabric
minimizes heat build up in the cockpit.
Cotton Flannel -
the dust cover
Cotton flannel covers are also
individually fitted for each type of glider. They are designed to insulate the
cockpit area and protect the canopy while sitting on the flight line for a
limited time, or while parked inside a hangar or trailer.

The construction is a single layer 10oz brushed flannel mildew
resistant material.

Top stitching provides added strength and a crisp, contoured look.

cover with two belly straps and a double V strap attaching to the trailing
edge of the wings.
